Bandung - Gempa berkekuatan besar mengguncang Tasikmalaya, Jawa Barat. Gempa ini berkekuatan 5,9 SR. Belum diketahui apakah gempa ini mengakibatkan kerusakan atau tidak. Data yang didapatkan dari Badan Meteorologi dan Geofisika (BMG), gempa ini terjadi pukul 13.51 WIB, Jumat (11/7/2008). Gempa berpusat di 236 KM barat daya Tasikmalaya. Pusat gempa berada di koordinat 9.37 LS - 107.61 BT dengan kedalaman 11 KM. Meski berkekuatan besar, menurut BMG, gempa ini tidak berpotensi tsunami. Sejumlah warga Tasikmalaya yang dihubungi detikcom juga mengaku tidak merasakan getaran. Menurut petugas BMG Bandung, gempa hanya dirasakan di pesisir Tasikmalaya. Gempa ini merupakan gempa biasa yang terjadi di pesisir selatan. (asy/ern)
